Early Spring Cecilia

The actions of children, when they are free of the constraints of adults, is endlessly fascinating to me. I observe Cecilia sometimes for long periods of time trying to be unobtrusive and unnoticed...just for the sheer joy of her imagination in action.

Sometimes I love my child with such an intensity that I am frightened by how it would destroy me if she were ever hurt or truly ill. Sometimes life is bleak enough even with her in it...I cannot imagine how destitute it would be without her.

It also frightens me to be this vulnerable.
